'There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.' George Sand
A naming ceremony celebrates the arrival of a new family member, a newborn, a new addition, a blended family.
There are wonderful ways in which you can do this. It is important to note that this ceremony is not a traditional christening service or baptism, this would only be permitted to happen in a religious building. A beautifully symbolic alternative could be to sprinkle a new baby with blossom or rose petals.
A family could have a sand blending ceremony, a unity candle ceremony, or a tree could be planted in honour of the new arrival.
There could be a symbolic honouring of other family members, including guardians. Perhaps the child’s guardians could make a jar of wishes or intentions for the future, or time capsule to be opened when they come of age?
The possibilities really are diverse and numerous and limited only by our own imaginations.
